For players born between 2007 and 2009, the 22-session Elite Skills and Development Program runs until March 2023
The Sudbury Wolves announced the launch of a 22-session elite skills and development program starting in October.
For players born between 2007 and 2009, the training program starts on October 10 and runs until March 27, 2023. Instruction will be provided by Wolves assistant coaches Rick Dorval and Gary Ricciardi.
“Learn from our highly qualified and experienced coaching staff,” the team said in a press release.
Dorval was head coach and general manager of the Hawkesbury Hawks Jr. A Central Canada Hockey League team for eight years before joining the Wolves. He led his teams through 400 wins and was twice CCHL Coach of the Year. Ricciardi has significant work experience in player development, the team said, and was “instrumental” in creating key hockey programs in Chicago and St. Louis.
Ricciardi is also the owner of Elite Grassroots Hockey Training Camps and has helped elite junior and professional players.
The camps will focus on improving player skills and understanding game patterns.
“I have witnessed Rick’s ability to teach and develop players through his positive, winning approach and attention to detail,” Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion said in the release.
Each session of the program will include an hour of elite skills training which will take place from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Sudbury Arena. Only 20 player places and 2 goalkeeper places are available. For prices and information, click here.
