The Roseburg Public Library will host a Facebook livestream event to discuss sustainable practices with community solar energy advocate Julie Williams on Thursday, March 31.

Williams is the founder of the non-profit organization Seed for the Sol. The organization works to remove financial barriers to residential solar energy and received the Celebrate Corvallis Good Steward of the Planet award in 2015 and the Benton County Environmental Award in 2018. Williams recently retired from Corvallis High School. and dedicates his time to developing the Seeds for the Sol model to provide energy equity throughout Oregon.

The release says that during the library program, attendees will learn how to calculate their carbon footprint and discuss steps they can take to reduce emissions. Other aspects related to solar energy will also be discussed.

The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period moderated by library staff.
