East Hartford Youth Services Virtual Program for Fall 2021 and Winter 2022

East Hartford, CT—The East Hartford Department of Youth Services continues to offer virtual and in-person services and programs. Professional staff and interns in the department offer confidential counseling to youth and their families in a wide variety of areas: individual and family counselling, youth counseling, relationship counseling, crisis intervention, parenting skills, addiction, bereavement /loss, anger/behavioral management, stress management and coping skills, building social-emotional skills, self-confidence/self-esteem/building resilience and establishing/ achievement of goals.   • Zentangle
    October 19, 2021 – June 14, 2022
    6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    Weekly via zoom on Tuesday evening.
    It’s an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful pictures by drawing structured patterns.
    There are no errors in Zentangle! Bring some zen into your life with this fun and creative outlet.
    Suitable for almost all ages. Younger ones will need more practical help/advice.
    Ideal for families and individuals. Learn new tangles every week!!

  • Talk-It-Out Tuesdays with Anne and Kylah
    Tuesdays November 9 and 23 and December 7 and 21 at 7 p.m.
    For 11-14 year olds.
    It’s a virtual space for all young people!
    Each meeting will have a different theme.
    Join us virtually as we discuss ways to become our best selves, connect with others, and grow as individuals.

    Weekly on Wednesday evening
    6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. via Zoom
    Parents and other adults caring for children are welcome to join this discussion and support group. We’ll talk about developmental stages children go through, common behaviors children exhibit at different ages, interventions parents/guardians can use to reduce disruptive behaviors, and overall support each other. . Caring for children is difficult. This is a space for you to get support and validation for the hard work you do!!
